CAMX (Computer Aided Manufacturing using XML) is a set of standards that define how manufacturing equipment and applications can easily exchange information on a factory floor.
Data to be exchanged is placed into xml messages and transported using internet protocols. To simplify the interpretation of data, a number of messages have been predefined. Specifics about the messages can be found in the message section.
The transfer of messages is accomplished using a message broker. Entities that publish messages send them to the message broker and the broker then sends the messages to entities that wish to receive them. The messages are transported between the entities and the broker using HTTP.
